update on the pool and weekend fun

We are getting there. Can't wait until complete as the weekends are tough when the kids can't go outside for a play. We have to keep them busy by leaving the house as they very quickly get cabin fever.

So the concrete is being poured on Tuesday which is exciting. I think they said that the concrete needs takes three weeks to set and then they can start the tiling.

This weekend was great. We went to nippers, Picked up a new car for Stu, made patizzi and ravioli (never made pasta before) and then topped it off with a street party in Bondi with friends celebrating Williams 3rd birthday.

The kids are bathed and the last one is about to go to bed. So all good. Loads of fun!!!

my first quilt

I started this little beauty back in May I think and the final stitches went in today. I love it and I am please so say that the owner of this gorgeous quilt seems to love it just as much as me. Olivia can't wait to sleep with it tonight.

I wanted to make Olivia a quilt that wasn't pink yet still girlie enough. I love red and turquoise which is what this quilt predominantly is. I think it works really well and won't look out of place in a little girls bedroom.

What do you think?

they are still digging

This is day three and the boys are still digging. They have had some bad luck, machines breaking down, rain, wind and concrete footings to dig through. I think they are doing well considering.

My yard looks like a bomb has hit it... I can't believe that it will look normal again but I do remember thinking that when we renovated the inside and it is perfect.

The only good thing about this weather we are having in sydney is that i wouldn't want the kids outside playing anyway so the fact that our yard is completely out of action hasn't really affected us.

let the demolition begin

The digging of the pool has started. I thought it was going to be a disaster with all of the rain we had over the weekend...but they were out the front at 7.30am ready to go.

Jack couldn't believe that a bulldozer was going to be in our back yard. A 5 yr old boys dream come true.

introducing the troops

This is my beautiful little girl. Olivia is 2yrs old. Turning 3 on the 8th November. Of course the whole concept of a birthday party is very exciting to a 3yr old. She wants a 'pink' party.

pool... about to start

We have had plans in to install a pool into our backyard since may (councils can be very difficult) and finally it is starting this Tuesday. Yesterday we removed all the plants we wanted to keep and repotted them. 22 gardenias and 3 citris trees. I am hoping they will survive the build and I can replant them closer to completion. I will keep you posted.

you have to start somewhere

.. .well I have officially taken the plunge. I don't know if you feel the same when you get a new notebook BUT I get this nervous feeling as I am about to write on the first page. For some reason I think that what is on that first page needs to be really cool, inspiring and my handwriting super neat and beautiful.

Starting a blog is shaping up to be the same. What do I write, post etc.

As you can see I have no heading graphic and nothing down the side of my entries but over time I am hoping this blog will evolve into something great.

Welcome and I do hope you enjoy this roller coaster ride I call living with me.
